Through my role as media coordinator of the LGBTESS at the University of Oregon, I was fortunate enough to receive a travel scholarship to attend a 4-day conference in Washington D.C. organized by the National LGBTQ Task Force. The Task Force encourages political expression as an essential principle in our LGBTQ movement for freedom, justice and equality. Welcoming debate and dialogue as key elements of the Creating Change Conference, the space was an opportunity to discuss intersectional LGBTQ identities and how to create gender-inclusive environments both virtually and physically.
